About Me.
My name is Mika, and I’m a film-maker from the Philippines. I grew up learning how to edit when I first got my PC at the age of 12. I spent most of my time growing up playing video games, watching films, and learning how to edit. For university, I moved to London to study in MetFilm School, 2-Year Practical Film-Making course. During my time in university, I was able to branch out and collaborate with more artists, which allowed me to experiment with a lot of mediums and ‘unconventional’ visuals. I try my best to have a cohesive story or moment, to clash with visual elements I make like 3D objects or graphic design. Although film is my passion, I have a never-ending desire to expand my capabilities in creating new media with the use of technology. I find it fascinating and challenging to be able to push forward with a new “effect”, new “look”, just by experimenting with the tools I have available to me. In my spare time, I enjoy making edits, designs, and recreating effects, just from footage or pictures I have on my devices. I believe that whatever is given to me, I can make something out of it. I let my imagination extend through my creations.
